Arthurs Creek

Many of the McPhee early settlers in Australia came to Arthurs Creek area.

The area has a long history as a significant sheep farming region.

Arthurs Creek was named after Henry Arthur, a pastoralist and public servant. Between 1836 and 1841, Arthur ran a flock of 1000 sheep lower down the Creek, but it was not until the 1860s when orchardist Charles Draper began planting in the area, that the Arthurs Creek township was established.
