The Surge

Charles Mason and Joseph Mason came to Australia on the ship Surge.

The ship Surge, 550 tons, Captain W. E. Maurice. The ship departed from London on 22nd January, Gravesend on 25th January and Plymouth on 13th February 1852. The ship arrived at Port Adelaide, South Australia, on Tuesday 1st June 1852.

Of the 218 on board, 142 were English, 20 Scotish and 56 Irish. During the passage to Australia there were also two births and seven deaths (or in another source 3 births and 8 deaths).
